Dental work in Turkey typically costs 60–80% less than private dentistry in the UK, the US or Western Europe — an implant with its crown for $400–$930 against $3,000–$5,000 in the United States, and a full smile makeover for $4,650–$9,300 against $20,000–$40,000. It is the clearest price gap in medical travel, which is why Turkey is the second most common destination for it. What follows is what those numbers actually mean, and where the traps are.
What it costs, in dollars
| Treatment | Turkey | UK | US |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single implant, incl. abutment and crown | $400–$930 | $2,650–$4,650 | $3,000–$5,000 |
| Zirconia crown, per tooth | $160–$370 | $800–$1,600 | $1,000–$2,000 |
| E-max porcelain veneer, per tooth | $330–$470 | $800–$1,600 | $1,200–$2,500 |
| Composite veneer, per tooth | $200–$330 | $550–$1,050 | $800–$1,500 |
| All-on-4, per arch | $3,300–$7,300 | $13,300–$23,950 | $18,000–$30,000 |
| All-on-6, per arch | $4,000–$8,650 | $15,950–$26,600 | $24,000–$38,000 |
| Smile makeover, 16–20 teeth | $4,650–$9,300 | $15,950–$26,600 | $20,000–$40,000 |
| Bone graft / sinus lift, if needed | $250–$800 | $650–$3,300 | $800–$3,000 |
| Root canal, per tooth | $120–$330 | $550–$1,200 | $700–$1,500 |
Western Europe sits between Turkey and the UK: a Hungarian clinic typically saves roughly 60–65% against UK private fees, and Poland rather less. The pattern is the same everywhere — the gap widens with the size of the case.
These are indicative market ranges, not quotes. They come from published clinic price lists and price surveys, checked in October 2026, and converted from the original currencies at £1 = $1.33. They move with the exchange rate, the materials used and your own case. A written, itemised quote after diagnostics can land anywhere inside the range — or outside it. We will get you one, and we will show you what is in it.
Brand is the number that moves most
An implant at the bottom of that range is usually a value or Korean system; Straumann and Nobel Biocare cost more in Turkey exactly as they do anywhere else — still far less, but more. The same applies to crowns and veneers: monolithic zirconia is not layered zirconia, and ‘porcelain veneer’ can mean pressed E-max, generic lithium disilicate or hand-layered feldspathic ceramic. Ask for the brand and the material in writing, then compare like with like. A quote that will not name the brand is telling you something.
The two-trip problem
This is the practical detail that catches people out, and it is a calendar problem before it is a cost problem:
- Veneers and crowns usually need 5–7 days on site — one visit, if the prep and the fitting fit into it.
- Implants need two visits several months apart. The implant is placed, the bone integrates for three to six months, then the crown goes on. That is not a sales tactic; it is how implants work. Budget for two trips, or expect a temporary tooth for months.
- All-on-4 and All-on-6 are usually immediate-load — a fixed temporary bridge on the day — with a final fitting months later.
What is in a price

Who it suits
Good candidates have a defined problem — missing teeth, worn or discoloured front teeth, a failing bridge — who can travel for the required visits and whose general health allows the treatment. It is a poor idea if you have untreated gum disease, heavy smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, or a history of grinding, because the work will fail regardless of where it was done. Any clinic that will start work without a periodontal assessment is selling you a warranty claim.
How long it takes
| Treatment | Trips | What it involves |
|---|---|---|
| Veneers or crowns | One trip, 5–7 days | Prep, temporaries, fitting |
| Single implant | Two trips | Placement, then 3–6 months of healing, then the crown |
| All-on-4 / All-on-6 | Two trips | Surgery and temporary bridge, then the final fitting |
| Extractions and grafting | Adds a trip | Grafting needs months to mature before implants |
Risks and what happens if something fails
Dental work abroad fails for ordinary reasons: poor planning, rushed prep, cheap materials, untreated gum disease, or a bite that was never properly assessed. The failure is rarely dramatic — a crown that debonds, an implant that does not integrate, a smile that looks wrong. The hard part is the fix, because your own dentist did not do the work and may not want to touch it.
Three protections, and they cost nothing: ask for the full records (X-rays, photographs, the implant brand and lot number, the lab used) so your own dentist can take over; get the warranty in writing, including whether it covers the lab work and who pays for the return trip; and do not have irreversible work done on the first morning — if a clinic wants to prepare 20 teeth on day one, leave. Our aftercare page covers the rest.

Common questions
Is Turkish dentistry lower quality?
Not inherently — the materials are the same brands you would find in London, New York or Berlin, and many Turkish clinics are excellent. What varies is planning time and follow-up. A clinic that books 20 crowns into a four-day visit is optimising for throughput, and that is where quality goes.
How much should I budget in total?
Add flights ($100–$500 return depending on where you fly from), the extra nights, and a second trip if you are having implants. For a single implant the total usually lands $600–$1,100 against $3,000 or more in the US; for a full arch the saving runs into five figures even after two trips.
Can my own dentist finish the work?
Often, yes — but arrange it before you go, and ask the Turkish clinic for records in a format your dentist can use. Some practices are reluctant to take on another clinic’s implants. Ask yours first.
